We invite applications for one postdoctoral fellowship in galaxy evolution within the cluster environment at the Padova Observatory in Italy (Post doc position - D.D. 35/2019). The Padova Observatory is one of the main structures of INAF, a network of 17 research institutes spread throughout Italy. The successful applicant will work with Dr. Alessia Moretti and in close collaboration with the GASP team ( http://web.oapd.inaf.it/gasp/).
The open position is dedicated to the study of the possible AGN triggering and development of X-rays tails in cluster galaxies due to the ram pressure and is specifically aimed at the analysis of Chandra/XMM archival data of the WINGS clusters where ram-pressure stripped GASP galaxies are located.
A fraction of time will be available for independent research in related areas.
The initial appointment is for one year with a possible renewal. The gross salary is 28,000 euros and is more than adequate to the cost of living in Padova. Dedicated funding are available for traveling.
