The Department of Astronomy at the University of Maryland College Park is seeking a full-time Lecturer beginning August 1, 2023. The position will involve teaching, undergraduate academic advising, participating in departmental activities, and other duties. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching non-major astronomy courses during the academic year and summer, managing teaching assistants assigned to the courses, and contributing to course development. In addition, the Lecturer will have co-curricular responsibilities of academic advising for undergraduate majors in one of the largest Astronomy major programs in the US. Salary is commensurate with experience. This is an initial full-time 12-month appointment with a view to a long-term non-tenured appointment. The University offers a comprehensive benefits package.
