The Department of Astronomy at the University of Maryland College Park is seeking a full-time Lecturer beginning August 1, 2023. The position will involve teaching, undergraduate academic advising, participating in departmental activities, and other duties. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching non-major astronomy courses during the academic year and summer, managing teaching assistants assigned to the courses, and contributing to course development. In addition, the Lecturer will have co-curricular responsibilities of academic advising for undergraduate majors in one of the largest Astronomy major programs in the US. Excellence in student advising is an extremely important component of building an inclusive environment that enables students to move on to successful careers.

Salary is commensurate with experience. This is an initial full-time 12-month appointment with a view to a long-term non-tenured appointment. The University offers a comprehensive benefits package.
