The Institute for Astronomy (IfA) at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa invites applications for the endowed Beatrice Watson Parrent Fellowship (BWPF). The candidate will be free to pursue the research area of their choice without functional duties or other obligations. The duration of the fellowship is nominally three years and can be held at any of the three IfA locations, Oahu, Maui, or Hawai'i island.

UH Mānoa is the flagship campus of a 10-campus system, and is one of only a handful of institutions that are land-, sea-, space-, and sun-grant institutions. We deliver a multicultural global experience in a Hawaiian place of learning. The IfA has strong research groups in most areas of astrophysics and has guaranteed access to the entire suite of observational facilities on the summits of Maunakea and Haleakalā. Candidates in all subfields of Astronomy are invited to apply.  For more information about the position, including required qualifications and application materials, go to the BWPF webpage.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
