We are seeking a post-doctoral scientist to join the GSFC X-ray galaxies group (xraydeep.org) at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). The successful candidates will be employed by JHU as Assistant Research Scientist and located on-site at the GSFC in Greenbelt, MD under the direction of Drs. Mihoko Yukita, Ann Hornschemeier, and Andrew Ptak. The research will involve (A) analysis and interpretation of X-ray observational data taken with NuSTAR and XMM-Newton on six relatively nearby (d < 10 Mpc) starbursting galaxies; (B) modeling of the X-ray binary emission and other relevant components (AGN, diffuse emission) in those galaxies; and (C) publishing papers and presenting results.
