As the Chemistry, Instructor I you will teach at the undergraduate level; be involved in course and/or curriculum development; research/scholarship; participate on College and University committees and/or initiatives.
Essential Job Duties: Teaches load of 12 contact hours per semester of undergraduate courses in chemistry and related subjects. Community, institutional and professional service in furtherance of FGCU's mission is expected of all faculty. Other duties may be assigned by the chair.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Chemistry or related field from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent. Must possess a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the field of instruction. Must meet the University and College criteria for the appointment to the level of Instructor I.
Preferred qualifications include the department values an engaged teaching and research perspective. Although applicants from all areas of chemistry are welcome, expertise in areas which complement existing departmental strengths would be especially welcome, as would interest and ability to make connections to other programs in the College of Arts and Sciences or the College of Engineering and the College of Health Professions. The successful applicant will demonstrate a willingness to engage in service opportunities commensurate with career maturity.
