The Department of Aerospace Physics and Space Sciences at Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Astrobiology with an expected start date of August 2019. Florida Tech’s astrobiology degree is one of only a few in the world, and while outstanding applicants from all fields will be considered, we are interested in candidates who are committed to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level while conducting a leading research program in astrobiology. Candidates are required to hold a Ph.D. in a field related to astrobiology. Candidates working on space-based astrobiology research are especially encouraged to apply. Information about the Department of Aerospace, Physics and Space Sciences and the College of Engineering and Science can be found at https://www.fit.edu/engineering-and-science/ Interested candidates may contact Dr. Daniel Batcheldor for further information at [email protected]. To apply, send a single PDF to [email protected] containing a cover letter, CV, a statement of research experience and interests, a statement of teaching experience and philosophy, and contact information for at least three references. The review of applications will begin on December 1. However, applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Florida Tech is an equal opportunity employer.
