Postdoctoral position in observational stellar physics and exoplanet science at IRAP/OMP (Toulouse, France)
Job Summary
Job Description
Applications are invited for a 2-yr postdoctoral position in observational stellar physics and exoplanet science at IRAP/OMP (Toulouse, France). The successful candidate will work with JF Donati, C Moutou and the NewWorlds ERC team, on observations of M dwarfs and their planets with SPIRou, the near-IR velocimeter / spectropolarimeter at CFHT. This project takes place within the framework of the SPIRou Legacy Survey, a 310-night programme carried out with SPIRou at CFHT from 2019 to 2022.
We are seeking a highly-motivated postdoctoral fellow specialized in observational stellar physics and exoplanet science. The candidate will study radial velocity curves and spectropolarimetric signatures secured with SPIRou, to detect and characterize planets around nearby M dwarfs, with special care given to the modeling of activity and to the filtering of the activity jitter from RV curves thanks to the polarimetric capabilities of SPIRou. Prior experience in velocimetry, activity modeling, tomographic imaging, bayesian analysis, spectropolarimetry is prefered.
Applicants should send their full CV, publication list and research project, to [email protected] and [email protected] by July 15, 2022. Applicants should also arrange for 3+ reference letters to be sent to the above addresses by the same deadline.
