We invite applications for a postdoctoral research position funded by the ERC Consolidator Grant DEMOBLACK (PI: Michela Mapelli). The DEMOBLACK team investigates the formation channels of stellar-origin binary black holes.
Candidates with experience in computational astrophysics and/or software development are encouraged to apply. We are particularly seeking for candidates with experience in one of the following areas:
- binary population synthesis and binary star evolution,
- star cluster dynamics, direct N-body codes, and hydrodynamics codes.

The starting date is flexible, but should be within June 1st 2023. Applicants must have a PhD (in physics, astronomy, astrophysics, or equivalent degree), or are expected to obtain their PhD by the time of the appointment. The appointment is for 2 years, with a possible 1-year extension.
