The Gravitational Lensing Group at the Argelander-Institute for Astronomy (AIfA), Bonn University, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship. The successful candidate is expected to work in the group of Peter Schneider on topics related to cosmological gravitational lensing. The group is strongly involved in the Euclid satellite project and the Kilo Degree Survey, and conducts theoretical and observational research.
The AIfA is one of the major German institutes in astrophysics, with reseach focusing on cosmology, stellar astrophysics and radio astronomy. It hosts over 100 scientists working on many different subjects in astrophysics and is located next to the Max-Planck Institute for Radioastronomy.
The appointment will be for three years. Salary is paid according to the German civil service scale TV-L E13. The appointment is expected to begin in the fall 2021.
Interested applicants should have a Ph.D. in astronomy, physics, or related fields. Experience with lensing research will be an asset.
