Research Fellow in Globular Clusters
Job Summary
Job Description

The positions are funded by the European Research Council (ERC) project of Prof Mark Gieles. The goal of this project is to understand the formation and evolution of globular clusters.
A broad range of research project related to GCs will be considered, with an emphasis on (1) mass modelling of GCs; (2) numerical (hydro and/or N-body) simulations of GC formation and evolution and (3) data mining of the first Gaia data releases.
The Astrophysics research group of the University of Surrey offers a vibrant research environment with staff expertise in the area of computational astrophysics and numerical modelling on a range of physics scales (galactic nuclei, globular clusters, galaxies and cosmology), and observations of nearby stellar systems, with a strong focus on science that provides synergy with the upcoming ESA-Gaia mission and related surveys.
