The School of Mathematics and Physics is seeking to appoint a talented astrophysicist who will build a research program that can capitalise on Australia’s membership in the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and/or the Square Kilometre Array (SKA). We are particularly interested in further enhancing and expanding upon our existing research strengths in theoretical cosmology, observational cosmology, and galaxy evolution. However, applicants with an outstanding track record in any area of astrophysics are encouraged to apply.
The appointee will have a demonstrated record of performing innovative, international quality research, and will have a vision for developing and leading their own research group.
Astrophysics is a rapidly growing research area at the University of Queensland, and we are simultaneously advertising for a fixed-term (3-year) faculty position. Applicants should indicate whether they are interested in being considered for both positions.
The University of Queensland campus is located in a curve of the Brisbane River, just 2km south of the city centre, within easy reach of national parks and the glorious beaches of the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
Applicants are requested to send a CV, a list of publications, responses to the selection criteria, a brief statement of research interests, and the names of three referees via the link here.
Applications are particularly encouraged from women.
The University of Queensland is a family-friendly workplace and offers a number of flexible work options to help staff balance their responsibilities at work and at home.
