The Center for Astrophysics and Planetary Science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem expects to offer several postdoctoral fellowships to start in the fall of 2019. Preference will be given to the following areas of research:
Cosmology: formation and dynamics of galaxies and large-scale structure (Dekel, Birnboim, Gnat, Hoffman, Shaviv)
High-energy astrophysics: gravitational waves, gamma-ray bursts, tidal disruption events, compact object mergers, cosmic rays (Piran, Sari, Shaviv, Stone, Horesh)
Observational time domain astronomy: supernovae, tidal disruption events, gamma-ray burst, radio transients (Horesh)
Planetary systems (Sari, Stone)
Plasma in astrophysics: ISM, IGM, circum-galactic processes, UV and X-ray observations (Gnat)
Stellar physics: radiation transfer, physics of the earth (Shaviv)
Tidal disruption events, stellar dynamics, compact-object mergers (Stone)
The material should include a curriculum vita, a list of publications, a brief summary of research, and letters of recommendation to be sent directly by three referees.
