Columbia University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist position in solar physics, at the Columbia Astrophysics Laboratory (CAL). The successful candidate will join the group of Drs. Michael Hahn and Daniel Wolf Savin. Topics of interest include the properties of plasma waves in the transition region and corona, the physical processes that accelerate the solar wind from within coronal holes and at their boundaries, and other subjects broadly related to coronal heating and the acceleration of the solar wind. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Solar Physics, Astrophysics, Physics, Applied Physics, Plasma Physics, or a related discipline. The appointment will be initially for one year with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional years contingent upon the availability of funds and mutual satisfaction.
