Job Description

Position as postdoctoral research fellow in cosmology is available at the Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics at the University of Oslo.

The fellowship period is for three years, with a starting date as soon as possible and no later than September 2017.

The position is dedicated to component separation, physical foregrounds modeling and forecasting for future CMB experiments including CORE and LiteBIRD. The project will be carried out in a local research group led by Dr. Ingunn Kathrine Wehus and Prof. Hans Kristian Eriksen, completed by 3 additional postdocs and 5 PhD students. The work will require a strong programming background, and previous experience with CMB data analysis is preferable. A generous personal travel/expenses grant of 50 kNOK is available per year. The institute also has access to world-class computing facilities, both in-house and on-campus, that are directly available to the candidate. The cosmology group at the Institute participates heavily in the Planck, SPIDER, COMAP and Euclid experiments.
