The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Rice University expects to offer a three year postdoctoral position in Theoretical and Computational Cosmology, Gravitation and Astroparticle Physics, starting around Sept 2022 (or earlier). The candidate will be encouraged to collaborate with members of the Relativistic Astrophysics and Cosmology group and Particle Physics Groups at Rice, in particular with Prof. Mustafa A. Amin and Prof. Andrew J. Long, as well as engage in independent research. The position is initially for two years, with the third year contingent on performance and funding.
A PhD in physics or astronomy is required, and some expertise in numerical simulations of cosmological fields/gravitation in preferred. Candidates from traditionally underrepresented groups in Physics and Astronomy are particularly encouraged to apply. Exceptional candidates might be nominated for the Rice Academy of Fellows program.
The applicant must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, list of publications, brief description of research accomplishments/interests (max 3 pages) at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/20356 and also arrange for three reference letters to be submitted via the same website. For full consideration the complete applications should be received by Dec 1, 2021.
