Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Astronomy/Astrophysics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Kentucky (UK) (https://pa.as.uky.edu/) is seeking candidates for a tenure-eligible faculty position in observational Astronomy at the Assistant Professor level, with an anticipated start date of August 2023. UK is the flagship institution of Kentucky. Our existing programs include galaxy clusters, galactic dynamics, stellar pulsations. UK is the home of the Cloudy project, an open-source spectral simulation code.  Lexington is in the heart of the scenic Bluegrass Region, with many outdoor recreation opportunities and excellent public and private schools. 

All candidates are required to have a Ph.D in Astronomy, Physics, or a related field. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education as well as to build a vigorous research program with potential to attract external funding.
