Postdoctoral Position in Cosmology
Job Summary
Job Description
An outstanding postdoctoral fellow is sought to conduct research in basic cosmology. A particular focus is on tests of the standard LCDM model of cosmology using the CMB, BAO, strong and weak lensing, etc., and their application to the Hubble constant / sound horizon tension. The ideal candidate will have experience working with some of the key datasets (e.g., Planck, BOSS) and associated software tools, such as CAMB, CLASS, CosmoMC, Monte Python, etc. Experience with characterizing and understanding foregrounds and systematic errors is desirable.
Opportunities exist for the supervision of undergraduate and graduate students.
A strong local cosmology group includes leadership of dark matter, dark energy, and Hubble constant measurement and theory. The candidate may also participate in efforts with the LAMBDA data center, the Subaru PFS, the Euclid mission, and/or other research activities of the group.
A Ph. D. in astronomy, astrophysics, or physics is required. We seek candidates with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
