The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Rochester invites applications for a faculty position in observational or experimental astrophysics. Applicants should have a Ph.D., an outstanding record of research, and a commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and the graduate level. The position is a junior tenure-track appointment. Excellence of candidates is our highest priority, so we will consider candidates in most areas of planetary, stellar, Galactic, and high energy astrophysics. We are particularly interested in candidates working in observational exoplanetary astrophysics and instrumentation development. We intend to have privileged access to a large-diameter ground-based optical/infrared observatory, in support of the successful candidate’s research.
