The Department of Astronomy at Stockholm University invites applications for two postdoctoral researchers in the area of supernovae and solar physics.
Project description
A) Supernova: We are seeking applications for a postdoctoral researcher in the area of core-collapse supernova simulations. This position will focus heavily on developing, extending, running, and analysing large-scale computational simulations of the core-collapse supernova central engine.
B) Solar: We are looking for candidates for a postdoctoral researcher position in chromospheric solar physics. The selected candidate will have access to state-of-the-art chromospheric data from the CHROMIS and CRISP intruments at the Swedish 1m Solar Telescope (SST) and to our new NLTE inversion code to perform her/his research in active regions and flares. Candidates with a more theoretical background (MHD/radiative transfer) are also very welcome to apply.
Terms of employment
The position is a two-year full-time appointment with the possibility of a one-year extension. It is available immediately, but a later starting date can be negotiated. Stockholm University strives to be a workplace free from discrimination and with equal opportunities for all.
