Job Description

Hampden-Sydney College’s Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a full-time one-year replacement with the possibility of renewal at the level of Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning August 2020. We are seeking an energetic individual with a demonstrated background and strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level, with a Ph.D. in physics, applied physics, astronomy, astrophysics or related fields, preferred. The department currently has five full-time faculty members, whose research interests include high-energy astrophysics, AMO physics, condensed matter physics, acoustics, and astronomy.
