Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the area of active galactic nuclei. The succesful candidate will work with prof. Bozena Czerny on the research project „Constraints on the dark energy properties from observations of active galaxies” Nr DEC-2017/26/A/ST9/00756 (PI Bozena Czerny). Candidates with previous experience in astrophysics, and in particular in optical observations and in programming, are particularly welcome. Among the tasks of the employed scientists will be the analysis of the potential sources of the systematic errors in distance determination to quasars from the reverberation method (problem of scattering in the hot medium filling the BLR region, the problem of the change in the mean viewing angle, mean black hole mass and mean accretion rate with redshift as a result of the systematic evolution of AGN).
The appointment will be for three years. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics or Astronomy by the date of appointment.
Interested applicants should submit to email@example.com a CV, personal data form for an employment applicant (to be downloaded from http://www.cft.edu.pl/en/index.php), publication record, a brief description of research interests and relevant experience, and three recommendation letters (or arrange for three letters of recommendation to be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by April 15, 2019). Applications may be accepted after this deadline until the position is filled.
