Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (Level A) to join our research team working on the James Webb Space Telescope Interferometer, and an associated family of related projects in high resolution imaging and high contrast object detection. The candidate will join the astrophysics and instrumentation program to develop commissioning strategies, data analysis techniques and astrophysical research programs suited to the Sydney-designed masking interferometer that will fly aboard the NIRISS instrument on the James Webb Space Telescope, slated for launch in 2021. The successful candidate will pursue astrophysical research programs that directly lead up to the outstanding opportunity for astrophysics presented by the launch of this visionary space observatory. Applicants should have a PhD (or equivalent) in Astronomy or Physics with knowledge of observational astrophysics and/or high angular resolution imaging, and a proven record of contributed projects and led research outcomes.
