The Millennium Institute of Astrophysics (MAS) solicits applications for two postdoctoral positions within the MAS Transient and Exoplanets group led by Franz Bauer, Alejandro Clocchiatti, Andres Jordan and Giuliano Pignata. Depending on skills and interests, selected candidates would work on topics related to extragalactic transients (SNe, TDEs, AGN) or extrasolar planets via archival, follow-up and ensemble studies. Postdoctoral fellows will have access to all the facilities and surveys that MAS is leading or is strongly involved in, such as: ALeRCE, ATLAS, HATPI, ePESSTO+, SOXS, ACCESS, WINE, as well as privileged access to the Chilean 10% time allocation on all telescopes in Chile and selected large surveys (e.g., LSST, SDSS-V) while resident in Chile.
The starting dates for the positions are negotiable, but could begin as early as April 2022. Appointments will be for two years, contingent upon satisfactory yearly evaluation, with possible extension to three years pending availability of funding. Postdoctoral fellows will receive a competitive salary and benefits, as well as a research budget including travel and hardware. Interested researchers should upload a CV (including publication list) and description of research interests (max of 3 pages) to this application form: https://form.jotform.com/220114386214647
