Job Description

As the first Chinese X-ray astronomical telescope, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (dubbed as Insight-HXMT) was launched in June 2017 and is currently in service. Insight-HXMT consists of three payloads: High Energy telescope (HE, 20-250 keV, 5100 cm2), Medium Energy telescope (ME, 5-30 keV, 952 cm2) and Low Energy telescope (LE, 1-15 keV, 384 cm2). HE also performs well between 0.2 to 3 MeV as an all-sky monitor. Thus Insight-HXMT can be used for carrying out pointing observations for bright Galactic sources, Galactic plan scanning survey and Gamma-Ray Burst (GRB) detection. So far many scientific results have been published and/or in preparation for publication. It is now a good time to join the Insight-HXMT team to explore more its rich data and scientific potential, since the data analysis software, background model and instrument calibration are all in maturity. We thus announce several postdoc positions in each of the following two research directions:

1)         Outburst evolution and radiation mechanism of accreting X-ray binary systems (XRB)

2)         Data analysis and modelling based on Insight-HXMT GRB observations
