Job Description

Prof. Craig Heinke invites applications for a post-doctoral position at the University of Alberta.  The successful applicant would spend part of their time working with Dr. Heinke, primarily on observational studies of X-ray binaries and neutron stars (see his website and publications list).
Experience with X-ray, optical/infrared, or radio observations, or theoretical aspects of X-ray binaries or neutron stars, is desirable.
The postdoc will join ongoing research projects according to his/her interests, and will be encouraged to collaborate with other members of the growing department and develop new projects.

Funding at a competitive salary, medical benefits, and travel support will be provided for two years with the possibility of extension for a third year, depending on funding and performance.

Applicants should send a CV, publication list, and statements of research interests (one page) and research experience (two pages) to Dr. Heinke as PDF files.  Applicants should arrange for three letters of reference to be sent  (preferably electronically).  Review of applications will begin August 15, and continue until the position is filled. The start date is negotiable.
