The Department of Physics at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of extragalactic astrophysics with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2020. We seek candidates with a demonstrated potential to successfully develop an independent, externally funded research program that will complement and strengthen current research in the department. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. A Ph.D. in Astronomy, Astrophysics, or Physics, and postdoctoral research experience, is required; both observers and theorists will be considered for the position.
