in Astrochemistry and Star/Planet Formation

The overall aim of the project is to study the chemical and physical evolution of star- and planet-forming regions, from the parent clouds to protoplanetary disks, with links to exoplanets and our Solar System.
This is done by comparing high sensitivity observations of molecular lines, ice features, dust continuum emission, magnetic fields with state-of-the-art dynamical/chemical models, supported by the experimental work carried out in the CAS laboratories. Researchers with experience in theory/observations of star- and planet-forming regions are encouraged to apply.
The flexible starting date could be as early as Spring 2020, for 2 years guaranteed with the possibility of extension to up to five years and further career within MPE.
Applicants should have a PhD in astronomy or physics or related field before starting.
The remuneration is based on the German collective wage agreement for the public sector (TVöD) depending on experience. Social benefits are granted according to the regulations for public service.
The post comes with a generous travel allowance.
