The Harvard Institute for Applied Computational Science (IACS), solicits applications for its postdoctoral researcher positions in Computational Science for the 2018-2019 academic year. Postdoctoral researchers receive an annual salary to carry out original research in computational science, and contribute to the educational activities of the institute, such as actively participate in the teaching of courses, and supervise student projects.
There are numerous opportunities for IACS postdoctoral researchers to engage with Harvard faculty, students, and scholars in computer science, statistics, and other disciplines. Opportunities include: the bi-weekly IACS seminar series, the annual winter ComputeFest activities, such as the IACS annual symposium, student computational challenge and workshops, and through courses in applied computation, both lecture style and project-based.
IACS is the home for students and faculty who are tackling major challenges in science and the world through the use of computational and data-science methods. IACS trains graduate students to solve real-world problems and conduct innovative research by using mathematical models, algorithms, systems innovations, and statistics, and machine learning. Embedded within a large liberal arts research University, IACS serves as the focal point for interdisciplinary collaborations in computational science and data science at Harvard.
