The Opportunity
The School of Physics and Astronomy is a School located within the Faculty of Science that aims to position itself as one of the top physics and astronomy research and teaching departments in Australia.
The School of Physics and Astronomy is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to join our team. As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to work with an ARC Future Fellow and international collaborators on 3D Hydrodynamics simulations of convective-reactive events in stars. You will join the world-class Stellar group in the Monash Centre for Astrophysics and will publish papers in high-impact journals, present results at major conferences and meetings, and assist with the supervision of PhD students.
The appointee will have an honours degree and/or a doctoral qualification (or progress towards one) in the relevant discipline or a closely related field. You will have demonstrated proposal preparation skills, experience in supervising and working with honours or postgraduate students within the discipline, and excellent organisational skills.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
