The Astrophysics and Cosmology group at the University of California, Davis invites
applications for a postdoctoral research position with Prof. Tucker Jones. The successful
candidate will work on observational studies of galaxy formation and evolution, with a focus on
chemical abundance of interstellar gas and star-forming regions including programs with Keck,
SOFIA, and HST. Experience with spectroscopic and multi-wavelength data analysis, and/or
photoionization modeling, is desired. Candidates interested in chemical evolution, the
circumgalactic medium, feedback and gas flows are especially encouraged to apply.


The position is for two years, with a third year possible contingent upon performance and
availability of funds. The starting date is negotiable, nominally in Fall 2021 or earlier. A Ph.D. in
astronomy or physics, or a closely related field, is required by the start date. Any questions about
