The Division of Physics, Mathematics, and Astronomy (PMA) is seeking to identify outstanding candidates for the position of Caltech Research Professor to play an integral role in:
(1) research in optical time-domain astronomy,
(2) development of tools and techniques for time-domain astronomy, and
(3) operations of the Zwicky Transient Factory (ZTF; http://www.ptf.caltech.edu/ztf).
Applicants should have a strong record in research and technique development in relevant areas of astronomy. The position is open for a start date as early as March 1, 2017. Given that first light of ZTF is expected in Spring 2017 (followed by a 6-month commissioning period) we are looking for candidates who can start in the position as soon as possible.
