The astronomy group at Texas A&M University invites applications for postdoctoral positions to start in the fall of 2023. Successful applicants will join the lively, interactive TAMU astronomy group and the Mitchell Institute for Fundamental Physics and Astronomy. These positions will involve collaboration with the members of the TAMU astronomy group, as well as pursuit of independent research. The positions are for three years and include competitive salary, plus funding to support travel and other research activities.
The astronomy faculty at TAMU work in areas including, but not limited to, galaxy formation and evolution, the high redshift universe, near-field cosmology, star formation, supermassive black holes and AGN, the cosmic distance scale and related time domain astronomy. This research is being carried out using facilities such as the JWST, HST, ALMA, Gaia, DES, and, in the future, with LSST and the ESO VLT MOONS survey.
