The Astrophysical Observatory of Arcetri offers two System Engineering Research Fellowships to work on laser and/or natural guide star Adaptive Optics Systems for ERIS-VLT and/or MAORY-EELT instruments, including error budget definition and maintenance, requirement analysis and related sub-system break-down, interface definition and control, supervising procurement, manufacturing, integration and test of sub-systems.
Candidates need to have (a) a PhD in Physics, Astrophysics or Engineering, or (b) a degree in the above mentioned disciplines and 3 years of documented experience in research activities on topics related to the ones of relevance for the project.
The salary is fixed to 30000€/year (corresponding to about 2235Euro/month net of taxes if it is the only income); the health care for not-Italians is paid by INAF.
