Shanghai Astronomical Observatory (SHAO) invites applications for one or two postdoctoral research positions in computational astrophysics. Prior experience or interest in hydrodynamic or MHD simulations is desired, but not required. The successful candidate will work with Prof. Feng Yuan on AGN feedback, galaxy evolution, and black hole accretion.
The appointment is awarded for two years initially, with possible extensions depending on performance. The starting date of the position is flexible. The salary is dependent on qualification and experience. The position comes with ample research funds for travel, publications, etc. Depending on performance and availability, the postdoc researcher may be offered a faculty position when the postdoc appointment is completed.
As a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, SHAO is one of the leading astronomical research institutions in China. The astrophysics division employs a mix of Chinese and international researchers, including 45 faculty members, 16 postdocs, and 65 PhD students.
