Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions in experimental, numerical, observational, and/or theoretical cosmology at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) to begin in August 2017. Research in cosmology in the departments of Physics and Astronomy at UIUC and at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications includes the early universe, inflation, CMB, dark matter, structure formation, strong and weak gravitational lensing, numerical cosmology, galaxy clusters, galaxy evolution, cosmological data analysis and experimental cosmology.
Faculty members working in cosmology include Peter Adshead, Neal Dalal, Brian Fields, Jeff Filippini, Gil Holder, Felipe Menanteau, Jesse Shelton, Jon Thaler, Matt Turk, and Joaquin Vieira. Researchers are active in many experiments, including the Dark Energy Survey, LSST, Spider, BICEP/Keck, and the South Pole Telescope, along with development of future ground-based, balloon, and satellite CMB projects.
